What if you looked in the grass and saw a cat snail looking back at you?
I was driving with my mom and my aunt in the car around dusk, around some sweeping hills with sparse pine trees. The only signs of civilization were a small stone covered bridge and a not yet lit billboard in the distance. We saw what looked like the northern lights in the sky and I looped around and pulled over to get a better look against the darker side of the sky. A little reminiscent to the shooting stars scene from Howl's Moving Castle, bands of aurora focused down to traveling laser points, sparking pastel colors in the grass. I had a weird sense that this was probably a world ending kind of event but it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.
